Clemson Lion Thomas E. “Tom” Hayden Elected as District Governor
 

 

 

Lion Tom Hayden of Clemson, South Carolina was elected to serve as District Governor of District 32-A at the district’s Mid-Winter Rally on January 9, 2004.

Lion Tom was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and received B. S. and M. S. degrees in Animal Science from Clemson University. He is a retired educator, having served Tri-County Technical College for 28 years as instructor and administrator. He is retired from the South Carolina Army National Guard in the rank of Sergeant Major.

Lion Hayden joined the Clemson Lions Club in August 1966 and has served his club as secretary, Vice President and President. He has served District 32-A as Zone and Region Chairman.

Lion Tom is a Melvin Jones Fellow, and also has received 100% President’s award, the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, The International President’s Leadership Medal and the Senior Builder’s Key.

Lion Tom and his wife, Lion Mary Ann have three sons and four granddaughters.
